Tam is currently the conductor of the Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra and the chief conductor of the Appassionato Orchestra, she also conducts several school orchestras in Hong Kong, namely St. Paul’s Convent School, School Orchestra and St. Clare’s Girls’ School Orchestra. She has worked with the Bern Symphony Orchestra in Switzerland and the Bohuslav Martinu
Philharmonic Orchestra in Czech Republic. Recently, she has been invited to conduct the Sokola Symphony Orchestra of Brno in Czech Republic.
An orchestral conducting graduate of Hochschule der Künste Bern, Switzerland, Tam studied conducting with Prof. Dominque Roggen, Kirk Trevor, Donald Schleicher and Tomas Netopil.
Apart from conducting orchestras, Tam is an active double bassist, she holds a degree in double bass performance from the San Francisco Conservatory in the U.S.A. Tam has been the resident artist with the British Isles Music Festival in U.K between 2012 - 2014.
Since 2016, Tam is invited to be the tour supervisor of the Asian Youth Orchestra, also the coordinator of the Hong Kong Music Summer Orchestra and the Asian Youth Orchestra Masterclass Series.
